Beijing Mingyang Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd. officially loaded and shipped a modular "production and storage integrated" containerized hydrogen production system for Kaztechgas Company;
Beijing Hydrogen Yi Energy Technology Co., Ltd. successfully delivered a kilowatt-level PEM hydrogen production container system;
Suzhou Jiteng Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. delivered a 5Nm³/h alkaline electrolyzer hydrogen production system to Karamay City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Updates on electrolyzer projects:
Liaoning Huadian Clean Energy Co., Ltd.: Huadian Diaobingshan Wind Power to Hydrogen Coupling 100,000mt Green Methanol Demonstration Project's PEM water electrolysis hydrogen production system tender. The total investment of the project is 3.945 billion yuan, which will include the construction of a 450MW wind farm and transmission and transformation project, a 295MW hydrogen production and storage facility, an 80MW/80MWh ESS power station, and a 100,000mt/year methanol synthesis plant; it is expected to produce 19,000mt of green hydrogen and 100,000mt of green methanol annually. The project officially started on September 21 this year, and this tender involves 12 sets of 250Nm³/h PEM electrolyzers.
Shenzhen Energy Northern (Etuokeqi) Technology Co., Ltd. : The first batch of 200MW wind turbines for this project was successfully connected to the grid. It is reported that the hydrogen production capacity of this project reaches 48,000Nm³/h, and the hydrogen storage section is equipped with 12 spherical tanks with a capacity of 1,875m³ each. The power supply for the project is jointly provided by a 500MW wind power project and a 5MW PV off-grid hydrogen production project, while the downstream chemical process plans to build a 150,000mt/year hydrogen synthesis plant, equipped with a 30MW pure hydrogen gas turbine to achieve hydrogen ESS function.
PetroChina Turpan-Hami Oilfield Branch: The 700MW PV-to-hydrogen project in Midong District, Turpan-Hami Oilfield, planned for 2024, has initiated the bidding service for land approval of its PV part. It is reported that the project also plans to construct a 20,000mt/year hydrogen production project simultaneously at the Wushihua factory area.
Guangdong Yuedian Energy Investment Group Co., Ltd.: Signed a green methanol project investment cooperation framework agreement with the People's Government of Tancheng County, Linyi City, Shandong Province, in Linyi. According to the agreement, both parties plan to invest in the construction of green methanol, green LNG, and centralized wind power projects in Tancheng County. It is reported that the project is planned to have an annual production of 200,000mt of green methanol and 65,000mt of green LNG, along with a 500MW centralized wind power project, with an estimated total investment of about 6 billion yuan.
Sinopec Xingxing (Inner Mongolia) West-to-East Hydrogen Delivery New Energy Co., Ltd.: The filing for the 100,000mt/year wind and solar power to hydrogen integration project (hydrogen production plant part) in Ulanqab was completed on December 29, located in Shangdu County, Ulanqab City. The total project investment and self-owned funds both amount to 5.94 billion yuan, with the construction period planned from June 2024 to June 2026. It is reported that the project will primarily involve the construction of 25 new hydrogen production plants, each equipped with 8 electrolyzer units, totaling 200 sets of 1,000 Nm³/h alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production units. Additionally, one 6,000 cubic meter low-pressure buffer tank and approximately 47.6 km of reclaimed water transmission pipelines will be built.
Shanxi Jinyuan Bio-Quality Technology Co., Ltd.:The winning bid result for the first phase of the Ningxia Lingwu 300,000 mt green methanol integrated project, with a capacity of 200,000 mt of green methanol, has been announced. The bid winner is the consortium led by China Construction Silk Road Construction Investment Co., Ltd., including China Zhongyuan International Engineering Co., Ltd. and Aerospace Planning and Design Group Co., Ltd., with a winning bid price of 2.904279295 billion yuan.
Hanzhou (Inner Mongolia) Machinery Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd.:The alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment parts production project, categorized as a county-level industrial project, has been filed for record. Construction location: Jiuyuan District, Baotou City; total investment: 100 million yuan, self-owned funds: 100 million yuan; planned construction period: January 2026 to December 2026; construction content and scale: building an annual production line for 100 sets of 1,000 Nm³/h alkaline electrolyzer parts and its auxiliary equipment production lines, along with supporting office facilities.
Shanghai Huayi Industrial Gas Co., Ltd.:The commissioning ceremony for Shanghai's first 100,000 mt-level green methanol project was held at Shanghai Huayi Industrial Gas Co., Ltd. It is understood that the Shanghai 100,000 mt-level green methanol project adopts the biomass methanol route, using green bio-natural gas produced from the fermentation and purification of urban wet waste and livestock manure in Shanghai as raw materials, and incorporates green electricity generated by three wind turbines in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park. The project utilizes the mass balance method and relies on the gas production facilities of Huayi's syngas supply and supporting project. The project is constructed and operated by Shanghai Huayi Energy Chemical Co., Ltd.
Yunnan Energy Research Institute Co., Ltd.:The winning bid result for the procurement of hydrogen production equipment under the key technology research project for the control system of renewable energy water electrolysis hydrogen production has been announced. The bid winner is Dongfang Electric (Chengdu) Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., with a winning bid price of 4.19 million yuan.
Inner Mongolia Huadian Huayang Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd.:The evaluation results for the second tender batch of the hydrogen production station survey and design services for the Inner Mongolia Huadian Damao Banner 1,000 MW wind and solar power hydrogen production project, a new energy industry-related project of the Huadian Group, have been announced. The first-ranked bid candidate is China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corp., with a bid price of 8.9 million yuan; the second-ranked bid candidate is Dingsai Engineering Co., Ltd., with a bid price of 6.1 million yuan. It is reported that the project's construction plan covers multiple aspects: It will construct 88 water electrolysis hydrogen production units with a capacity of 1,000 Nm³/h each and supporting facilities. After these units are put into operation, they are expected to produce 547 million Nm³ of hydrogen annually. Simultaneously, 25 hydrogen spherical tanks with a water volume of 2,000 m³ each will be installed, providing a hydrogen storage capacity of 650,000 Nm³. Additionally, supporting facilities such as one 220 kV main hydrogen production step-down substation will be built.

1. The Infrastructure Development Department of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) published an article titled "Accelerating the Construction of a Modern Infrastructure System." The article mentioned, "Accelerate the construction of a new energy supply and consumption system, coordinate all aspects of energy production, supply, storage, and consumption, and enhance the stability of energy supply and peak shaving capability. Promote the safe and orderly development of nuclear power. Focus on applications such as gray hydrogen replacement and green ship fuel to advance the national planning and layout for green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol." 2. The energy industry hydrogen standard NB/T 11896-2025 "Code for Preparation of Feasibility Study Reports for Renewable Energy Power-based Hydrogen Production Projects," led by China Energy Engineering Group North China Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd., was officially released.
3. The first energy industry hydrogen standard NB/T 11810-2025 "Code for Preparation of Planning Reports for Renewable Energy Power-based Hydrogen Production Projects," compiled under the direction of the HydroChina Corporation, was officially released and will take effect on December 30, 2025.
4. The European Commission approved a €4 billion electrolyzer special fund, providing a 30% subsidy on equipment costs for projects with an annual capacity of ≥500 MW, and set a 2030 target for electrolyzer efficiency in green hydrogen projects at ≥60% (LHV basis).

Zhejiang Yangguang Green Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd.: Its independently developed 100kW anion exchange membrane (AEM) electrolyzer was successfully started up and officially entered trial operation.

1. Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (China) disclosed patent CN2025110028, developing a ceramic-based anion exchange membrane with a laboratory test lifespan reaching 80,000 hours.
2. Johnson Matthey (UK) filed patent WO2025109876, disclosing a Fe-Ni-Mo ternary non-precious metal catalyst formulation with activity close to platinum-based materials.
Technology Footprint/Technical Specifications
1. The newly developed non-precious metal electrodes by Asahi New Energy demonstrated outstanding electrochemical performance, achieving a hydrogen evolution overpotential of 180mV and an oxygen evolution overpotential of 245mV at 100mA·cm−2, while maintaining over 70% energy conversion efficiency and 99.9% hydrogen purity.
2. Researcher Shi Le's group from the College of Environmental and Resource Sciences at Zhejiang University, in collaboration with Professor Weng Xiaole's group and Professor Bruce E. Logan's group from Pennsylvania State University, US, made a breakthrough in distributed hydrogen production via electrolysis using non-traditional water sources. The main content involves using water vapor electrolysis to directly produce green hydrogen from non-traditional water sources.
3. A research team from the School of Electrical Engineering and the State Key Laboratory of Electrical Insulation and Electrical Materials at Xi'an Jiaotong University successfully developed a Ru/Ti3C2Ox@NF bifunctional electrocatalyst for seawater electrolysis.
4. The group standard "Technical Specification for Wind and Solar Power Green Electricity Coupled Electrolysis Hydrogen Production" (Number T/CIEP 0272—2025) was released and implemented by the China Industrial Environmental Protection Promotion Association. Zhongneng Dayou Energy Technology Co., Ltd. successfully developed a 100kW-level PEM electrolyzer hydrogen production multi-field coupling test equipment.
5. GKN Powder Metallurgy announced the development of a new generation of high-performance, high-porosity, high-purity porous transport layers (HP-PTL) for proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis.
